Freiburg Kultour is now once again offering its classic Freiburg city tour. Of course, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, nothing is quite as it used to be. And yet, it’s wonderful to be able to welcome guests back to the capital of the Black Forest.
In Freiburg, we offer both public and private city tours. Of course, all city tours in Freiburg are conducted in compliance with the COVID-19 regulations of the state of Baden-Württemberg. Essentially, this means: social distancing!
The Health and Safety Plan for City Tours in Freiburg
So, whether you book a private guided tour of Freiburg or join one of our public guided tours, your Freiburg tour guide will always maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 meters. If you’re traveling with family members from the same household, you can, of course, stand close together. Masks are not required in public spaces. Freiburg Kultour maintains participant lists to assist with contact tracing in the event of an illness.
Otherwise, almost everything has remained the same as it was before the pandemic. Only the group size is currently still limited to 20 people.
Meeting Place and Itinerary for the Freiburg City Tour
The meeting point for the Freiburg city tour is the Freiburg Tourist Information Office (Rathausplatz 2–4). You can purchase tickets for the public Freiburg city tour online. You can also simply stop by the Tourist Information office and buy a ticket there on the day of the tour. Due to the reduced group size during the COVID-19 pandemic, our public tours sell out quickly.
The Freiburg Public City Tour lasts 90 minutes. As you walk through the Old Town with your Freiburg tour guide along the narrow alleys lined with little streams, you’ll learn many interesting facts about the history of Freiburg im Breisgau. Of course, you’ll pass by many of the city’s landmarks along the way, including the Walfischhaus and the historic department store. The highlight of every public tour, however, is the Freiburg Cathedral.
