If you visit Colmar Alsace you should bring a lot of time with you. Located in the Alsace region of France Colmar is a pearl in the Upper Rhine Valley and melting pot of German / French history. With a population of around 65.000 people Colmar is the third largest City of the Alsace, after the capital Strasbourg in the North and Mulhouse in the South. In view of the Vosges mountains Colmar is also known as the wine making capital of Alsace.
The meeting point for your Guided City Walk in Colmar is the tourist information at the place des Unterlinden. Here you also find the Museum Unterlinden, home of the world famous Isenheimer Altar Piece by sculptured in 1512 to 1516 by Nikolaus of Haguenau and painted by Matthias Grünewald. Also on the Unterlinden square you find the tradional Alsatian restaurant Pfeffel.
From the Unterlinden square the guided walk will lead you through the narrow lanes of Colma’sr old town. Here, where German and French architecture meet, you will be enchanted by colourful half timbered houses and grand French administrational buildings.
