Our Schynige Platte Tour is one of our Northern Switzerland day trips. The Schynige Platte is a small mountain ridge and a viewpoint in the Bernese Highlands and belongs to the Schwarzhorn group. From here you can enjoy amazing views onto three of the most famous mountains in the Swiss Alps, Eiger, Jungfrau and Mönch. Other than hiking you can reach the Schynige Platte via the historic Schynige Platte railway, which runs from the village of Wilderswil. The railway reaches a height of 1,967 metres (6,453 ft) at the terminus station. During the Schynige Platte tour you can visit the alpine botanical garden, specialising in the display of, and research into, the high altitude flora of Switzerland.
The Schynige Platte tour can be extended in many ways. Stops and guided city tours in Luceern or Interlaken can be included. Why not spend some time in Luzern and see the famous Lions Monument? Or visit Interlaken, located where Lake Brienz and Lake Thun meet?
In fact you don’t even have to go to Schynige Platte if you take our Northern Switzerland tour. As with all of our excursions and trips we will customise the tour according to your wishes. We could take you on a day trip to the Jungfrau Joch. A railway will take you from Lauterbrunnen to Kleine Schydeck and then to Grindelwald. Or maybe you want to feel a little bit like 007 James Bond? The you should visit with us the Schilthorn. At an elevation of 2970 meters you find the setting for “Her majesties secret service”. Today this location is a restaurant with stunning views on Eiger, Jungfrau and Mönch.
