Freiburg Germany for families is our program designed for families and small groups of up to eight people. Many families and friends avoid mixing in larger groups, this is even more true during the covid 19 pandemic. For these guests we offer Monday to Friday at 12:30 pm only a private tour. Bookings must be made online, per Email or phone.
You will meet your local guide in front of the tourist information in Freiburg, Rathausplatz 2 – 4. From there you will discover the old town of Freiburg Germany with your guide. Of course you will learn some modern facts about most Southern City in Germany. But swiftly you will then dive into 900 years of history. Starting at the Gerichtslaube, the oldest administrative building in Freiburg. In front of our two town halls you will also learn of the beautiful mosaics that you find on our pavements. Your private group will continue to the ornamental Walfischhaus once the home of Ersamus of Rotterdam.
Crossing the main shopping street, called “Kajo” by the locals the group will reach the famous market square with its cathedral, the Freiburg Minster. You will hear about this masterpiece of gothic architecture. Our guided city walk continues to Konviktstrasse, one of the most beautiful lanes in Germany. Here you will also discover the history of the “Bächle”, the iconic little creeks that run though the old town of Freiburg Germany.
Passing one of the two surviving town gates, the “Schwabentor” you will then enter the area of the tanners before ending at Augustiner square.
Enjoy 900 years of history in Freiburg Germany. Our professional English speaking guides will entertain you with history and anecdotes. In particular look forward to:
